Have you ever wondered why the manufacturers don’t utilize this valuable space? We did.
For one thing, we couldn’t fit a spatula without putting it diagonally or fit a standard sized silverware tray.
We solved this by removing the drawers and rebuilding the drawer boxes. The drawer slides were long enough so we reused them.
Overall a quick fix with big benefits.
Next We Looked Under the Kitchen Sink
Here there was a thin wall that divided the finished cabinet with the back. The back had duct work for the furnace but all the space above it was unused “valuable” space. So we removed the wall and built a subfloor and side walls. We installed it with screws so if we ever need to get back there; we can just remove the screws and have complete access again.
